State officials say it will take the rest of the week to fix the I-75 northbound connector ramp at I-375 after it was damaged by a tanker crash and explosion Sunday. Michigan Department of Transportation officials say they need to replace roughly 300 feet of concrete pavement and the barrier wall.

But, they say there are plenty of ways to avoid any traffic back-ups for those heading to downtown Detroit by using another freeway.

State officials say workers will only fix the pavement for now and will put up a temporary barrier until the wall can be repaired.

They estimate the ramp should be re-opened by Friday evening.
