Gasoline is Near $3 a Gallon, but Still Cheaper than a Year Ago

AAA says Michigan drivers have seen some of the highest increase in gas prices recently.

Drivers in Metro Detroit are paying close to three dollars a gallon for gasoline. Prices have risen steadily since falling below two dollars a gallon in late 2014. AAA Michigan spokesperson Susan Hiltz tells WDET’s Pat Batcheller the average retail price has increased by double digits in 10 states, with Michigan leading that group. Hiltz adds that gas is about a dollar cheaper than it was a year ago.
