Analyst says Fiat Chrysler fine puts pressure on industry to be quick and transparent about recalls.
An automotive analyst says the federal government’s decision to fine Fiat Chrysler Automobiles up to $105 million puts pressure on other automakers to be quicker and more transparent about recalls and repairs. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration penalized FCA for dragging its feet on issuing recalls and fixing affected vehicles. Autotrader Senior Analyst Michelle Krebs tells WDET’s Pat Batcheller the fine also shows NHTSA is getting tougher with car manufacturers.
