AAA Says Holiday Travelers Will Pay Less for Gas than 2014

Auto club also forecasts 1.2 million people will travel in Michigan this weekend.

AAA Michigan says drivers can expect to pay about 30 percent less for gasoline this Labor Day weekend compared to last year. As of Tuesday morning, the auto club’s Fuel Gauge Report showed the average statewide price at $2.47 per gallon. That’s almost $1.10 cheaper than it was a year ago. Spokesperson Susan Hiltz tells WDET’s Pat Batcheller that about 1.2 million people will travel in Michigan this weekend, slightly more than 2014. Click on the audio player to hear the conversation.
