UAW Contract with Fiat Chrysler Faces Uncertain Fate
So far, most union members who’ve voted have said “no”.
United Auto Workers members at some of Fiat Chrysler’s largest factories are voting this week on a new four-year contract. So far, most union members who have voted on the deal nationwide have rejected it, putting its ratification in doubt. Autotrader analyst Michelle Krebs tells WDET’s Pat Batcheller the contract might still be approved, although “no” voters have several problems with the deal. A slim majority of union production workers at FCA’s Warren Truck and Mack Avenue Engine plants approved the contract Monday. Skilled trade workers at those factories voted almost 2-to-1 against it. Voting is scheduled Tuesday at Sterling Heights Assembly and Toledo Assembly. Click on the audio player to hear the conversation.
