Drivers Behaving Badly: AAA Says That’s Most of Us.
Study shows 87 percent of U.S. drivers do something they shouldn’t behind the wheel.
A new survey says most Americans don’t drive as carefully as they think they do. The AAA Foundation for Public Safety found 87 percent of drivers engaged in at least one risky behavior behind the wheel in the past 30 days. The most common infractions were distracted driving, speeding, running red lights, not wearing seat belts, and drowsy or impaired driving. AAA Michigan spokesperson Susan Hiltz tells WDET’s Pat Batcheller that percentage is alarmingly high. Click on the audio player to hear the conversation.
