Tax Foreclosure Prevention Fairs This Week
Detroit residents facing foreclosure can take advantage of resources at a free workshop.
The City of Detroit is hosting a series of Tax Foreclosure Prevention Workshops this week. Homeowners or tenants at any stage of foreclosure can get access to resources to help them stay in their homes.
City Council Member Gabe Leland says it’s important that residents take advantage of the many resources available.
“There is a potential for a poverty exemption. If you are a veteran, there are some resources for you as well. There are stipulated payment agreements,” Leland says.
Leland says those who attend the workshops should bring a copy of their deed or lease, driver’s license, a recent utility bill, and any correspondence with Wayne County.
