Detroit Free Press film festival expands in third year
Broader movie selection, more venues in 2016
Detroit Today host Stephen Henderson spoke with organizers for the Detroit Free Press’ third-annual Freep Film Festival. Artistic Director Kathy Kieliszewski and Programming Board member Steve Byrne say the event will expand this year to new venues, including the new Third Man Records in Detroit and Emagine Theaters in Royal Oak. Organizers say they will also show a wider variety of films with connections to Detroit. The festival has previously concentrated entirely on documentaries.
The festival runs from March 31 through April 3.
