Company grows its operations on the grounds of Packard Motorcar Plant.
A Detroit company is celebrating its first anniversary operating at the site of the former Packard Motorcar Plant. The 40-acre site at East Grand Boulevard and Concord Street is one of Detroit’s most notorious ruins. The plant and surrounding grounds had been largely vacant for years. That was until Display Group President Rick Portwood moved his company from Corktown to the Packard site last year looking for room to expand. Portwood tells WDET’s Amy Miller that being on the Packard grounds has worked out well.
