Fallen Border Patrol Officer Commemorated
The U-S Border Patrol Detroit Sector commemorated nine fallen officers.
The US Border Patrol Detroit Sector held a memorial ceremony for its fallen officers Monday.
Nine were commemorated from Michigan, Ohio, Illinois, and Indiana.
Sergeant Kris Grogan says a red rose was placed in a wreath for each border patrol employee who died on the job.
“We put them on display, here at our sector headquarters and that is just one way we can all remember those that we lost over the past year,” Grogan says. “It’s kind of a reminder of the dangers that we face every day. That there’s a lot of people who have laid down their life in defense of this country.”
Gorgan says this is the 12th memorial ceremony for the sector. The event was held at the Selfridge Air National Guard Base, where the wreaths will be put on display.
