Dow Plans Hundreds of Job Cuts in Michigan

Dow Chemical is set to cut 700 jobs in Michigan as it slashes 2,500 positions worldwide.

The Dow Chemical company plans to eliminate about 700 jobs in Michigan.

Officials with Dow Chemical say they will cut about 4% of the Midland-based company’s workforce.

The move comes after Dow Chemical completed taking ownership of the Dow Corning company and indicated it intends to trim a total of about 2,500 jobs worldwide.

Dow Chemical also has a merger pending with rival company DuPont.

Dow currently employs about 6,000 people in Michigan.
