Metro Detroit Feels Hottest Temps So Far This Week
Detroit is expected to see its hottest weather so far this week with temperatures reaching the low 90s.
This could be the hottest week of the summer so far in Metro Detroit.
Temperatures are expected to hit the low 90s with the humidity making it feel closer to 100.
National Weather Service Meteorologist Joe Clark says the high humidity could be dangerous for some residents.
“The problem with such a humid air mass is that it doesn’t really cool off very well at night,” Clark says. “So if you have people without air conditioning, particularly if they are elderly or live in the city, it can be hard to relieve some of that heat stress at night.”
Clark says temperatures will start to drop back into the 80s on Sunday with possible thunderstorms.
The National Weather Service says the average high temperature in Metro Detroit this time of year is 83 degrees.
