Meijer officials say a cooked egg ingredient from a supplier has tested positive for salmonella.
The food items affected include fresh macaroni, seashell macaroni and Amish potato salads as well as tuna salad, egg salad and chicken salad sandwiches.
Meijer, which operates about 200 stores across Michigan, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Wisconsin and Kentucky, says the potentially tainted food was sold between July 20th and July 25th.
The salmonella bacteria can cause serious health problems, especially for the very young, the very old and those with existing medical conditions.
