So Delphi is launching a pilot program to test its self-driving software on electric vehicles in the island nation of Singapore.
The effort beginning this week involves cars traveling on three pre-chosen routes in a business park, hauling passengers from homes or offices to mass transit stations.
Delphi officials say they eventually want to create the ability for customers to call for cars over a smartphone app, to transport both people and goods as well as offer services like picking up items from a grocery store.
