Michigan’s Refugees by the Numbers [CHARTS]

More than 25,000 refugees from six of the seven countries named in President Trump’s immigration order have arrived in Michigan during the last 15 years.
Using data from The Refugee Processing Center, which is operated by the U.S. Department of State, WDET charted the numbers of people who have arrived in the Mitten State as refugees.
Click on the bars of each graph to see a breakdown of people arriving each year. The total from all six countries is 25,593.
Refugees are people who are “fleeing conflict or persecution,” according to the United Nations High Commission on Refugees.
