Officials with the American Civil Liberties Union of Michigan is launching an ad campaign this week the group says is meant to combat intolerance and recent anti-Muslim statements and sentiments. The ads print the First Amendment of the U.S. Constitution in three languages — English, Spanish, and Arabic.
ACLU of Michigan Executive Director Kary Moss tells WDET’s Jake Neher it’s an effort to promote civility and discourse.
“What we really want to do is generate a conversation around what the Constitution means and that it applies to everybody,” says Moss.
