Jerusalem Post’s Gil Hoffman Talks About Persistence of Antisemitism in America

From the attack on a Pittsburgh synagogue to a photo of high school boys holding up the Nazi salute, antisemitism is still very real in America.

For the third year in a row, the FBI is reporting a spike in hate crimes in this country. While most of those crimes have to do with race, there has also been a 37% increase in hate crimes driven by anti-Semitism.

From the attack on a Pittsburgh synagogue to a photo that appeared just last week of dozens of high school boys in Wisconsin holding up the Nazi salute, anti-Semitism is still very real in America.

Each year the metro Detroit Jewish Community Relations Council invites an Israeli journalist or policy maker to give a speech about the connections between that country and ours.

This year, it’s Gil Hoffman, chief political analyst at The Jerusalem Post. He is called “The most optimistic man in Israel” by Israeli Television.
