Mackinac Policy Conference: The issues pressing the most vulnerable Michiganders

The president and CEO of the Michigan League for Public Policy says the pandemic, “really shed a light on inequities.”

State policy dictates much of public life in Michigan. One of the organizations advocating for policies meant to protect vulnerable Michiganders is a nonprofit called the Michigan League for Public Policy.

According to that organization’s president, the pandemic refocused Michigan’s policy priorities to kids, infrastructure and childcare.

Monique Stanton is the CEO and president of the Michigan League for Public Policy. She says her organization is trying to improve state funding for schools, to address healthcare access for young people, and more dollars overall that target efforts to assist children and teens.
