Motown Museum Hold Events to Remember Its Black Forum Label

The “Black Forum Label” series takes place every Friday evening in February at the Motown Museum.

The Motown Museum is launching a series of events to honor Black History Month — and a part of the record label’s history.

Berry Gordy created the Black Forum label to present spoken word materials such as poems, political discussions, and civil rights speeches.

Raina Baker is the program manager for the Motown Museum.  She says the label provided another outlet for the struggle for civil rights.

The “Black Forum Label” events take place every Friday evening in February.  Doors open at 5:30.
