The Detroit Red Wings have made the Stanley Cup playoffs for the 25th straight season. Their first-round opponent will be the Tampa Bay Lightning, whose general manager is longtime Wings captain Steve Yzerman. The teams split their four regular season games, each winning twice. The Lightning will miss one of their star players. Steven Stamkos is out with blood clots in his arm. The Wings have endured inconsistent goaltending from Jimmy Howard and Petr Mrazek of late.
