GM Recalls One Million Trucks Because of Bad Seat Belts

GM says seat belts in 2014 and 15 Chevy Silverados and GMC Sierras may not hold during a crash.

General Motors is launching a global recall of just over one million trucks with seat belts that might malfunction.

The recall includes some GMC Sierra and Chevrolet Silverado pickup trucks from the 2014 and 2015 model years.

Officials with GM say the belts could become loose after being used for a while and fail to keep occupants secure inside a vehicle in the event of an accident.

The automaker says the problem was discovered by analyzing warranty data and there have not yet been any reports of injuries connected to the problem.

The majority of the trucks were sold in North America.
