On this episode of Visions, I celebrate Miles Davis whose 100th birthday is May 26. I play music from four different decades of Miles Davis to highlight the expansiveness of his artistry.

You hear “Kind of Blue”, “Agitation”, “Honky Tonk”, and “U ‘n’ l” by Miles. I also play Christian Scott aTunde Adjuah’s rendition of “Guinnevere,” originally by Crosby, Stills & Nash, but that Miles recorded during his electric era.

Also on this episode is music from Joe Lovano, Charlie Haden and Alice Coltrane, Ramsey Lewis, Charles Earland, Dee Dee Bridgewater, Charles Kynard, Irreversible Entanglements, aja monet, Immanuel Wilkins, and Jorge Ben Jor.

Happy birthday Miles Davis! And happy listening.
