‘Documenters’ Project Launches New Round of Training for Residents Covering Local Meetings

A conversation about a collaborative project aimed at empowering Detroiters through teaching them how to report on public meetings.

WDET, Outlier MediaCitizen Detroit, and City Bureau have been teaming up for several months to help Detroiters attend and document public meetings. 

The Documenters project kicks off a second round of public newsrooms and trainings this month. 

On Detroit Today, Stephen Henderson speaks with Outlier Media Chief of Engagement and Operations Candice Fortman and City Bureau co-founder Darryl Holliday, who directs the organization’s News Lab.
