More than a Million Michiganians Expected to Hit the Road During Thanksgiving
Auto club AAA predicts 1.5 million people from Michigan, almost 47 million nationally, will travel during Thanksgiving.
Experts predict there will be more Michigan residents traveling during the Thanksgiving holiday week than there has been in the past half-dozen years.
The auto club AAA forecasts that more than 1.5 million people from the state will gobble up at least 50 miles of traveling away from their home during the Thanksgiving holiday, which runs from next Wednesday through Sunday.
AAA officials say that would be the most people from Michigan traveling on the holiday since 2007.
The auto club estimates that most travelers will drive, in part because gas prices are expected to be the lowest since 2008.
Nationally AAA predicts nearly 47 million people will be on the roads, in the air or on the rails traveling during this Thanksgiving season.
