Lilly Lynn Nguyen is the Intern Producer for In the Groove on 101.9 WDET-FM, Detroit’s NPR station. Nguyen is a Broadcast Journalism student at Wayne State University, where she is sharpening her skills in reporting, producing, and storytelling.
Nguyen grew up immersed in music, drawn to the way songs can capture emotion and tell stories. Her all-time favorite track is “Fade Into You” by Mazzy Star, and she regularly attends concerts to experience live music — some of her favorite concerts include The 1975, Wallows, and Lorde. These experiences inspire her reporting and shape her perspective as a music journalist.
Nguyen hopes to one day write for major outlets in New York City, sharing stories that highlight the artists, sounds, and cultural movements shaping the industry.
