First Female Coach Brings NFL History to Detroit
NFL’s first female coach says teammates had to tell her she was making history, there was no role model for her.
Over the weekend the Detroit Tigers brought a piece of pro football history to the Metro region.
The team hosted a panel on women in sports that included the Arizona Cardinals’ Doctor Jen Welter – the first female coach in the history of the NFL.
Welter told WDET’s Quinn Klinefelter the fact she’s coaching a professional football team still comes as something of a shock to her.
