Trump has been reaching out to the African American community in recent days, arguing that Democratic policies have saddled cities like Detroit with high rates of poverty and unemployment.

Democratic officials say they will have a well-known politician attend their annual Labor Day parade in Detroit, but have not yet said precisely who that will be.
