What Becomes of the Clintons and Their Legacy?

Bill Clinton was governor of Arkansas and president of the United States. Hillary Clinton was First Lady, a U.S. Senator, and Secretary of State.
Now that Hillary has lost her second bid to be president, what becomes of the Clintons and their legacy?
“This was much bigger than Hillary Clinton,” says Ron Fournier, associate publisher of Crain’s Detroit Business who covered the Clintons in Arkansas and at the White House with the Associated Press. “The real reason she lost… is because people are mad as hell and they’re not going to take it anymore.”
Fournier says because Hillary Clinton has been around for multiple decades in the political world, she was not a change candidate, and that hurt her.
“It’s hard to get people to vote for you… if you’re not trusted.”
But, Fournier says, the Clintons were also often treated unfairly because of the very public roles they’ve inhabited for many years. He says it was unfair for outsiders to question the intimacy or legitimacy of the Clintons’ marriage, even through infidelity.
“The Clintons did and do love each other,” says Fournier. “They were all-in together to push forward their agenda, whether you supported it or not.”
