Marvel Studios has had a string of hit movies based on iconic comic books. And the latest release in the film franchise is no exception.

“Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2” features a band of misfit heroes battling evil in deep space, including one central character who is blue with a big fin on his head.

Yondu is a surrogate father to the leader of the Guardians.

He’s portrayed by actor Michael Rooker who traveled to Novi this weekend to discuss the character and movie at the Motor City Comic Con.

Rooker tells WDET’s Quinn Klinefelter he had a plan to deal with playing such an alien figure.
