Celebrate the life of one of the most talented musicians of his era, the legendary Curtis Mayfield tonight at the DPL.

Mayfield’s son, the author of a biography of the artist, will be giving a lecture and book signing tonight.

Celebrate the life of one of the most talented musicians and social critics of the 60s and 70s, the legendary Curtis Mayfield, tonight at the Detroit Public Library. A biography called Traveling Soul: The Life of Curtis Mayfield is out now. It’s written by Mayfield’s eldest son Todd. 

Todd Mayfield will be at the Detroit Public Library on Tuesday, June 12, to talk about his father’s life and music. CultureShift’s Amanda LeClaire spoke with him about the work of promoting his father’s legacy.
