Thousands Attend Funeral for Aretha Franklin

The seven-hour long funeral drew attendees from around the world.

Thousands of music fans from around the world packed into Detroit’s Greater Grace Temple for the funeral of Aretha Franklin.

The event was historic for the city of Detroit. 

Throughout the seven-hour long funeral, attendees heard remarks from speakers such as the Reverend Jesse Jackson, former President Bill Clinton, and Motown star Smokey Robinson. 

Millions more around the world heard broadcast coverage of the service

Musical performances including as Faith Hill, Ariana Grande, Shirley Caesar and Stevie Wonder, comprised a large part of the service.

All to honor the Queen of Soul, Aretha Franklin.
