Former WDET Music Host Chris Felcyn Has Died

He was 67 years old.

WDET received word over the weekend that former music host Chris Felcyn has died.  Felcyn worked at WDET for many years hosting the classical music show “The Listening Room”.  Most recently, he served as the midday host at WRCJ here in Detroit.

Felcyn had a deep knowledge of classical music and a razor sharp wit.  He used that wit each year to put together a special broadcast called “The Symphony Bowl”.  It was a fictional match where the orchestras of the cities playing in the Super Bowl would face off against each other. Stations around the country aired the special.

Felcyn died Friday at age 67.  Visitation will take place on Thursday and Friday at A.H. Peters Funeral Home in Warren.  A private funeral service will be held later.
