Playwright And MacArthur Award Winner Dominique Morisseau Returns Home To Detroit For “Pipeline”

The story of a teacher and her teenage son plays at the Detroit Public Theatre through Nov. 4.

Dominique Morisseau is a world-renowned playwright who was just awarded a MacArthur Genius award. She’s also a native of Detroit whose work has explored many layers of life in the city, past and present, and dives deep into swirl of race and class that influences so much of how we think, and interact with one another.

Morisseau returns to Detroit this week to see a performance of her stage play “Pipeline” at the Detroit Public Theater. The play is about a high school teacher in the city, her teenage son, and their fight through an education system that is often working against them.
