Detroiter Angela Abiodun’s career in education has taken her everywhere from South Africa to Louisiana.

Now, Abiodun is looking to take her creative work to the next level.

She’s been offered the opportunity to attend a two-week writers workshop in Portugal, but there’s one obstacle: the workshop’s price tag. 

Like many artist retreats, it takes a significant amount of money to attend.
