Acclaimed Authors Min Jin Lee, Luis Rodriguez Featured at Midwest Literary Walk in Chelsea

Min Jin Lee and Luis Rodriguez join Detroit Today to talk about their work and their appearances this weekend.

This year’s Midwest Literary Walk is bringing internationally acclaimed writers to Michigan to share their work and their stories. 

New York Times bestselling author Min Jin Lee‘s work is getting lots of attention and critical acclaim for its masterful storytelling and insights into the lives of Korean immigrants. Apple has ordered an eight-episode series based on her book Pachinko for its streaming service. She will appear at 1 p.m. Saturday at Main Street Church in Chelsea.

Midwest Literary Walk

Luis Rodriguez, whose frank depiction of gang life in America, has garnered praise while also landing his work on the nation’s 100 most censored titles by the American Library Association. He’s the author of the book Always Running, and was the Los Angeles Poet Laureate from 2014 to 2016. He will appear at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at the Chelsea Depot.
