Matthew Milia Album Release at Loving Touch
Matthew Milia is the lead singer and songwriter long-running local Americana-rock/indie-folk band Frontier Ruckus, and will be celebrating the release of his first solo full-length album, Alone at St. Hugo. It was recorded with engineer and musician Ben Collins of Minihorse. Head to the Loving Touch to catch the release party for this record, featuring openers Anna Burch and Career Club.
Britney Stoney at Ziggy’s
Britney Stoney has put out three amazing singles over the last two years. She’s a Kresge Fellow, a playwright, a versatile genre-hopper, and has one of the most beautiful voices you’ll encounter around the Michigan music scene. She’s performing at Ziggy’s in Ypsilanti which has become the premiere spot for live music events in that town.

Loose Koozies at New Ann Arbor Venue, Lo-Fi
Detroit’s neo-country rockers Loose Koozies will head to Lo-Fi in Ann Arbor to join Little Traps. Little Traps feature brushy, minimalist drums under a combination of banjo and acoustic guitar, with elegant, novella-like lyrics. Loose Koozies bring some twang to the table and make perfect late spring/early summer soundtrack songs. This show is sponsored by the online zine Pulp, which is facilitated by the Ann Arbor District Library.
Virginia Violet & the Rays with the Drinkard Sisters at Otus Supply
Virginia Violet leads the Rays at Otus Supply. This young, versatile soul ensemble throws back to Detroit’s mid-60’s Motown heyday and spins a fresh take onto that classic sound. Virginia’s sweet songbird vocals soar over swinging rhythms and a smooth jazzy winds section. Joining them will be the Drinkard Sisters who put out an album last year featuring stylishly reinvigorated country and folk tunes.
