Broadway legend and Metro Detroiter Jeffrey Seller talks return of theater, Hamilton at Fisher
“Rent,” “In the Heights” and “Hamilton” producer says he didn’t realize the kind of success his shows would have before they reached such acclaim.
The musical “Hamilton” has continued to gain prominence and notoriety since its publishing in 2015. Many music commentators have suggested as much, as the musical swept the Tony Awards and more recently got a deal with Disney Plus.
It has also launched the careers of artists in the original cast, most notably Lin-Manuel Miranda. The show is returning to Detroit this November and December at the Fisher Theatre.

Jeffrey Seller is the producer of “Rent,” “Avenue Q,” “In the Heights,” and “Hamilton. A Michigan native, Seller says during the first few months of the pandemic he was concerned the virus would keep people separated forever. Now, he says he’s enthused that he’s able to attend live events.
