This February, someone will become the first-ever composer to win the Grammy Award for Best Score Soundtrack for Video Games and Other Interactive Media.
This is a new category as of 2023, and it shows just how significant video games have become in the wider lens of culture. The nominees in this category for the 65th Annual Grammy Awards are Aliens: Fire Team Elite by Austin Wintory, Assassin’s Creeed Valhalla: Dawn of Ragnarok by Stephanie Economou, Call of Duty: Vanguard by Bear McCreary, Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy by Richard Jacques and Old World by Christopher Tin.
