Jake Neher/WDET

Three University Presidents, M. Roy Wilson from Wayne State University,  Lou Anna Simon from Michigan State University and  Mark Schlissel from University of Michigan join Stephen at the Mackinac Policy Conference to discuss the University Research Corridor.  Some of the key points of that interview:

The group plans to focus on Detroit this year and universities’ impact on revitalization

The research corridor is under-recognized in the state, people don’t necessarily think of its impact.

The economic impact of three universities, in different ways, in the city of Detroit is about $950 million

Although Wayne State is in the center of Detroit, all three universities have a deep, committed relationship with the city. Especially from a research interest and perspective
