Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton delivers her response to Republican rival Donald Trump’s economic policy address today in Warren.
Both the Trump and Clinton campaigns believe the industrial Midwest, hit hard by lost manufacturing jobs, could be swing states in November.
So Clinton is trying to reach blue collar workers by calling for a massive new investment in infrastructure jobs, one of the likely themes of her speech at a factory in conservative Macomb County.
In May Clinton told the Detroit NAACP she, not Donald Trump, would build on economic gains already made under President Obama.
Clinton said, “We cannot let Barack Obama’s legacy fall into Donald Trump’s hands.”
Earlier in the week in Detroit Trump vowed, among other things, to end what he called Obama’s “job killing” energy policy.
