Clinton Blasts Trump, Pacific Trade Deal at Speech in Michigan

Hillary Clinton told a crowd of factory workers in Warren that she will fight any trade deal that sends U.S. jobs overseas.
The Democratic presidential nominee spoke only days after her Republican rival laid-out his economic agenda in Detroit.
Donald Trump claims Hillary Clinton backs trade agreements like NAFTA and the Trans Pacific Partnership that he says cost U.S. workers jobs.
Democrats have pressed their nominee to make her opposition to such deals crystal clear.
And Clinton used her speech in Warren to make the case.
She said, “My message to every worker in Michigan and across the country is this: I will stop any trade deal that kills jobs or holds down wages, including the Trans Pacific Partnership.”
The Clinton campaign billed the speech as a counterpoint to Republican rival Donald Trump’s economic address earlier this week in Detroit.
Clinton said Trump’s call for penalizing corporations that outsource work overseas is not supported by his actions.
“Now before he tweets about how he’s really the one who will put America first in trade,” Clinton said, “Let’s remember where Trump makes many of his products. Because it sure is not America.”
Both the Clinton and Trump campaigns believe job creation and growing the economy are the key issues in Michigan and other potential swing states across the industrial Midwest.
