Live In Studio A: Mollywop
There’s a food security activist in Detroit who’s dedicated his life to ensuring black communities in the city have access to healthy food, and a path to a good quality of life. Malik Yakini is the co-founder of the Detroit Black Community Food Security Network.
But for as much time as Yakini dedicates social issues, he’s also a passionate musician.
His band, Mollywop, performs November 5th at 9pm Northern Lights Lounge. It’s the “Funky Rock and Soul Stomp Party”.
Mollywop recently performed live in WDET’s Studio A.
