A Bit of Motown Heads to Liverpool

Motown singer Martha Reeves, heading for gig in Liverpool, says hometown of the Beatles mirrors her home of Detroit.

During this holiday season some in Britain are celebrating with a bit of Motown.

Specifically Motown’s Martha Reeves, lead singer of the group Martha and the Vandellas and a former member of the Detroit City Council.

Reeves begins a concert tour in the United Kingdom next month that includes a date in Liverpool.

Reeves tells WDET’s Quinn Klinefelter she has a long history with people in Liverpool and with the town’s most famous native sons.
