Paula Poundstone Talks Crazy Election Year On Detroit Today
Poundstone will perform at the Royal Oak Music Theater on Saturday, December 17th.
This year’s election cycle has been tough for media professionals — except, maybe, for comedians.
There’s been plenty of material to draw from, and four years of President Trump could end up being a godsend for the people who make us laugh.
Paula Poundstone is one of America’s most recognizable comics, especially to NPR listeners, who know her as a panelist on the weekly game show Wait, Wait Don’t Tell Me. Poundstone has the high distinction of setting the record for most losses on that show.
“I do like to dispel a certain misconception, which is this — yes, I’m trying to win,” says Poundstone. “The thing is, the others cheat.”
“That’s what no one ever talks about, the steroids. No one ever talks about the doping. But, you know, Mo Rocca juices,” she quips.
Poundstone will perform at the Royal Oak Music Theatre on Saturday, December 17th.
You can catch Wait, Wait Don’t Tell Me on WDET on Saturdays at 10 a.m. and Sundays at 2 p.m.
