MetroTimes Talks New “Detroit 67: Perspectives” Exhibit at Detroit Historical Museum
The massive new exhibit runs through 2019 and relies heavily on oral histories to tell a larger narrative
The Detroit Historical Society has launched a new exhibit at the Detroit Historical Museum called “Detroit 67: Perspectives.”
The exhibition looks at the events surrounding the 1967 Detroit civil unrest that happened here 50 years ago this July.
MetroTimes senior editor Michael Jackman wrote about the exhibition in this week’s issue and talked with CultureShift producer Ryan Patrick Hooper about how the historical society is using a wide range of media to tell this complicated narrative.
“Detroit 67: Perspectives” exhibition is open now and will be on view at the Detroit Historical Museum through 2019.
