Waking Windows Music Festival Debuts in Detroit

The festival, which began in Vermont, features Moodymann, Priests, and Car Seat Headrest

The inaugural Waking Windows Festival begins this weekend at El Club. It features more than a dozen national and local artists including Moodymann, Car Seat Headrest, and 
The Craig Brown Band. 

Waking Windows organizer NIck Mavodones and Bobby Hackney is in Rough Francis, one of the bands with a significant Detroit connection who will be playing Sunday night. Listen to WDET’s Amanda LeClaire talk with Mavodones and Hackney about the festival’s beginnings in Vermont.
