The 2018 WDET Michigan Beer Bracket is underway. The bracket — completely voted on by WDET 101.9 listeners — will help determine the top beers throughout the state.

WDET’s Ryan Patrick Hooper speaks with Detroit Free Press reporter and beer analyst Robert Allen about the bracket including metro Detroit’s award-winning Black Lotus Brewing Company.

“You’re not going to find their beer on shelves or taps across the state. It’s kind of a destination. They’re a remarkable brewery for their size,” says Allen. “They’ve taken home some pretty big awards. They actually won in the World Beer Cup…for their Ninja Pirate barleywine, which is one of the beers listed in the bracket.”
