Detroit’s Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History has a new leader.

Neil Barclay comes to us by way of New Orleans and Pittsburgh, where he led similar kinds of institutions. Here, he takes the helm of a troubled but celebrated museum that is not just searching for firm footing for its own future — it’s trying to find its way among several cultural institutions that are learning to work better together.

Barclay joins Detroit Today with Stephen Henderson to introduce himself and share his thoughts about how the museum can bolster its position in Detroit and beyond.
