Celebrate Detroit’s Country Music Scene at the Crofoot in Pontiac

The massive celebration of Detroit’s country music scene is in honor of DPTV’s premiere of “Country Music,” the new Ken Burns documentary, airing Sunday, September 15th.

Dan John Miller is well-known around Detroit’s local music scene for his long career in country-influenced ensembles like Goober & the Peas, Two Star Tabernacle and the beloved gothic country group, Blanche

While Blanche never officially “broke up,” they have been noticeably absent from the stage for several years, that is, until Wednesday, September 11, when they reunite for the Detroit Country Music Spectacular at the Crofoot in Pontiac.

The massive celebration of Detroit’s country music scene is in honor of DPTV’s premiere of  “Country Music,” the new Ken Burns documentary, airing this Sunday, September 15th. Miller, along with another local songwriter, Ryan Weise, aka Ronny Tibbs, will emcee the event.

Not only did Tibbs and Miler produce a short film series about Detroit’s country music legacy for the event, but they were able to corral an impressive lineup of southeast Michigan’s finest country, or country-inspired artists, including the Volebeats, Frontier Ruckus, Libby DeCamp and more.
