Michigan voters have a chance to cast their vote earlier in the primary calendar thanks to new absentee ballot rules. WDET wants to know how you’re thinking about your primary vote.
Michigan’s presidential primary election is on March 10, which some are calling “Big Tuesday.” It occurs after 20 states have already voted or caucused.
But voters can weigh their options now by requesting an absentee ballot. The Detroit News reports that absentee ballots requests in the state are expected to increase. In Detroit, it’s expected to double. This is partially because in 2018 voters approved no-reason absentee ballot requests, lowering the bar for voting ahead of time.
Here is a full list of candidates who filed by the Dec. 19 deadline. There are also state and local matters on the ballot, including the Detroit Institute of Arts millage renewal.
